AdBlue In Your Diesel

This is partly caused by people not understanding how to work with it (important: it is in fact not a fuel additive), and in part because the inlets for diesel and AdBlue are generally right close to each other on the automobile.

So, what exactly is the situation with putting AdBlue in the diesel car? Seeing as the product is mainly deionised water, it is as bad as putting water in to your tank. Diesel and water don't mix whatsoever and trying to run a diesel car on water will never work. Moreover, the urea is particularly corrosive to your fuel system pipes and seals and is susceptible to crystallisation, damaging injectors and filters.

If you find you have put AdBlue into a fuel tank get it out at once. And most definitely be careful not to crank the car - not even to relocate it away from the pump. If perhaps you have started the car you may very likely need to have the full fuel system flushed and fuel filters changed.
